Past Work on Site

The PADS site includes 12 former aircraft refueling pads on a paved surface (part of the current Galena airport apron) and the associated pipeline system underneath. Benzene, toluene, ethylbenzene, and xylenes were detected in soil and ground water around the site above screening levels, particularly on the western side of the site. Diesel range organics were detected in the groundwater only. Several other sites are found in the area and may have contributed to the groundwater contamination. This site was split from the OAP/PADS/VP9 site (Hazard ID 25756).
