The Building 1833 storage shed was documented in 1996 to have an inactive 55-gallon drum oil water separator. Historic photos do not identify the separator in 1985, but indicate the drum was in use before 2002. A remedial investigation in 2011 indicated that TCE exceeds screening levels in soil. Estimates in the 2012 remedial investigation report indicated that concentrations of TCE exceed cleanup levels to a depth of 16 feet below ground surface.
