Drinking Water

Drinking Water Improvement Project (DWIP)

What We Do:

The YRITWC Drinking Water Improvement Project is providing Technical assistance and educational outreach to drinking water stakeholders across the Yukon Watershed. We travel to rural Alaskan communities to meet with local water utility operators and stakeholders to perform on-site community based educational presentations. We provide hands on water testing training to stakeholders, and we identify, characterize, and catalog non-certified drinking water sources.

We also provide long distance assistance and outreach to Utility Managers, Environmental and Health Professionals, and Educators. The YRITWC DWIP has also developed a Safe Drinking Water Practices Handbook for drinking water end users in areas where unmonitored and/or untreated drinking water sources are utilized.

If you are concerned about the quality of your village's drinking water, we welcome your outreach!
